Buddy got permission from his coach to skip football practice one afternoon this fall. He plays left tackle on the team that also includes his new brother, Joey. Practices are important, but something even more significant was going on at home: a family portrait.

Family portraits aren't a big deal for most kids, but for Buddy, being part of a family picture -- being part of a family -- is the best thing in the world. Buddy beams as he stands with his parents in front of their home in Camden, Tennessee.

"It's so great, it's almost unreal sometimes," Buddy says about his new family and new life. "Everything is going great for me!"
