Hands-On Experience for Students
The Youth Villages Internship Program offers you unique, hands-on experience working with emotionally and behaviorally troubled youth in a residential, group home,  home-based counseling, or other clinical setting in Memphis or one of our many other locations. A week-long orientation prepares you to work closely with our staff and learn to carry out many of the same duties, including group therapy, one-on-one processing, teaching life skills, organizing recreational therapy activities and more.Youth Villages offers internships year round.

Summer internships are 40 hours a week for 10 weeks and are paid. Fall or spring internships are for credit only; schedules are flexible.

Our summer program in Memphis offers community housing arrangements as well as organized group activities and outings to baseball games, Graceland, cosmic bowling and a smashing intern bash ensure you have plenty of fun things to do.

Requirements
Interns must be at least 21 years of age or entering their junior year of college to be considered.  Only current graduate or undergraduate students are considered - occassionally we have placements for those looking to intern immediately following graduation.

Hiring Process for Interns

Spring and Fall hiring processes vary based on location of interest, however the online application must be completed before being considered.


Summer Interns

Deadlines

December 1st Early Selection
March 1st Final Deadline


Step 1
Complete the online application in its entirety.
Your application status will appear as Not Reviewed.
Please note: we cannot review resumes via email.


Step 2
Once your application is complete, the intern manager will review your application and contact you by email to schedule a first interview by phone.
Interviews take place by phone or on campus.
Your application status will say Being Reviewed.

Step 3
If a recruiter is on your campus they often will schedule an in person interview which can take place before or after the interview with the Intern Manager.
Your application status will say Pending 1st Interview/1st Interview.

Step 4
After your interview/s candidates should not expect to hear anything until mid-January or mid-March depending on the application deadline you chose. 

Your application status will say 2nd Interview.

Outcomes
Selected interns are notified by email of their selection and must return the acceptance form by the stated deadline or an alternate candidate will be selected.  Candidates not selected are notified via email as well including those selected to be on a waiting list.


All communication with potential interns is via email so it is important that you check your spam/junk email as well as provide the email address on your application that you regularly check.
